"Orquideas" Kali Uchis Album Review

I'm a bit late but today I will listen to Kali Uchis' new and 4th album, "Orquideas," which translates to "orchids." This is her second Spanish album. As always, I rank each track or song out of ten and then give my overall rating. Bolded means my favorite.

  1. "¿Cómo Así?" 7.5/10

  2. "Me Pongo Loca" 7/10

  3. "Igual Que Un Ángel" with Peso Plusma 8/10

  4. "Pensamientos Intrusivos" 8/10

  5. "Diosa" 7/10

  6. "Te Mata" 9/10

  7. "Perdiste" 7/10

  8. "Young Rich & In Love" 8.5/10

  9. "Tu Corazón Es Mío" 8/10

  10. "Muñekita" 6.5/10

  11. "Labios Mordidos" with Karol G 7/10

  12. "No Hay Ley Parte 2" 7.8/10

  13. "Heladito" 8.5/10. "

  14. "Dame Beso // Muévete" 9/10

Overall Rating: 7.9/10

"Orquideas" is an album that focuses more on Latin pop/reggaeton influences, but is still able to keep those R&B vibes. It still delivers great tracks, such as "Te Mata" and "Tu Corazón Es Mío." I hoped for more songs like "Te Mata" (which focuses on getting revenge on her lover,) and "Dame Beso // Muévete" which takes on some great Latin jazz vibes. The album continues to change its style from Pop to reggaeton trap. The reggaeton trap songs, "Muñekita" and "Labios Mordidos" weren't my thing, and have to be my least favorite songs off the album. "Dame Beso // Muévete" was a great ending to the album, and I can see this song being played at all the quinceañeras. "Heladito" deserves so much more recognition, it feels so underrated. Even though I would prefer her previous album, Kali Uchis never seems to disappoint on her album. With her recent pregnancy announcement, this might be the last project we'll see from her for a while, so she can focus on. In conclusion, I can appreciate some Kali Uchis and hope to hear Spanish-only songs/albums in the future.
